International Day of Families

Families are an amazing thing;
With the fun, the love and happiness they bring.

At the very beginning just me and my wife;
Then together we made a tiny new life.

A world of parenting all scary and new;
Full of broken nights and milky spew.

It’s frightening how quickly our newborn child;
Has grown to a toddler, independent and wild.

I sit with my wife, watching him play;
A moment I cherish every day.

These moments remind me of how lucky we are;
And all we have been through to get this far.

Myself and Claire and Isaac make three;
How I love my little family.

So no matter what your family form;
One parent or two, there is no ‘norm’.

Love your family whatever your way;
And celebrate this marvellous day.
