Lost For Words

This is a poem I can not write,
My brain a haze, a swirling storm,
The words are lost, try as I might,
A single thought I fail to form.

My brain a haze, a swirling storm,
How do I find the words for this?
A single thought I fail to form,
My pen to paper, a painful kiss.

How do I find the words for this?
Every scribble breaking my heart,
My pen to paper, a painful kiss,
Mind unravelled and pulled apart.

Every scribble breaking my heart,
Each letter a wish that you were here,
Mind unravelled and pulled apart,
Ink displaced by a fallen tear.

Each letter a wish that you were here,
Memories flowing through my brain,
Ink displaced by a fallen tear,
Choked by a deep and dreadful pain.

Memories flowing through my brain,
Recalling your kind and gentle soul,
Choked by a deep and dreadful pain,
Within my heart sits a gaping hole.

Recalling your kind and gentle soul,
You turned into a lifeless shell,
Within my heart sits a gaping hole,
I struggle to say the last farewell.

You turned into a lifeless shell,
The words are lost, try as I might,
I struggle to say the last farewell,
This is a poem I can not write.
